More on Kara. Top: Kara outside. 2nd: Tall, beautiful, radiant smile, good gene pool these folks. 3rd bridesmaids and matron. 4th: The flower girls practicing a dance for the reception. Last: A funky terrarium made in a pair to flank the head table. Kara and co. had a very clear color story and style. As a designer you'd better track dress color trends, it will make life much easier for everyone. Good job guys.

Kara Hunton

 A lovely and elegant Kara Hunton at St. Peter Church. She is carrying a bright bouquet of orange unique rose, cherry-oh roses and orange lilies with an aqua wrap. The color scheme continued throughout the entire ceremony and reception. I will show more photos but this one deserved its own post. Thanks Kara and company.

tuxedo moon

White roses and stephanotis with black pins. Anther simple, sleek, simple beautiful bouquet. The black pins in the stephanotis and tux-style wrap help give this standard combination a neo-classiccal twist. Black and white is versatile, classy and cool. What I like to call an after 6:00 bouquet.

Agatha Reinhold

Agatha Reinholding carrying picasso calla lilies, purple stock, lisianthus and roses. She's seriously cute in that dress, perfect for July.

Fall Bouquet

One of the 3 looks for the fall bridal show this Sunday. Billy balls, orange roses, kalanchoe, oncidium and sedum tied with raffia.

Red roses, purple stock, hot pink spray roses, purple lisianthus collared with green hypericum berries. I forget how much I love purple and red together.

what's up tiger lily?

More from the from the backyard. Tiger lilies, salvia, rudbeckia, yarrow, seedum, hybrid day lilies, tansy and gladiola foliage.

cutting garden

Zinnias, phlox, crepe myrtle, seedum ( which makes a great armature,) echinacea, mint and a few balloon flowers arranged in a vase. I, just love how it looks like it grew there. I did however put it in my kitchen.

backyard bounty

My first post on this blog was a beautiful arrangement of zinnias and cockscomb taken by Lisa Suits. Though Lisa takes a better picture than me and the Westphalia Trading Co.'s zinnias are flawless, this design has something great going for it. It's from the backyard and there's more.

Butterfly House

 Some images from a trip to the Butterfly House at Faust Park in St. Louis, Missouri. A great place though it was a bizzillion degrees with 7,000% humidity. There are lots of well kept tropical plants and from 70 to 80 species of butterflies. Top is a beautiful swallowtail that I haven't been able to identify, all that i know is that  it isn't native to Missouri (this is new territory for me, I would be glad for any help.) Second we have a Thoas Swallowtail native to Central and South America. Bottom, just so you know I'm not going completely lepidopterist on you is a hibiscus schizopetalus, a very  fitting name.

more callas

Just to stress the beauty of bouquets with few elements I will post the rose and calla lily combo almost every time I make it. Presentation bouquets of calla lilies for the bridesmaids and a clutch of fragrant white roses and mini callas for the bride. Clean and classic.

brown-eyed- susans

Brown-eyed-susans, coneflower or rudbeckia. Whatever you call it is fine by me. The pretty orange in the bottom arrangement is butterfly weed or asclepsias which I am currently in love with.

Tiger Swallowtail

Tiger Swallowtail on white yarrow from the same area as the last post. I love being at my in-laws. Several more great Hannibal wildflower pics to come.
