Cat Smart

Here we have lovely Cat and company. Cat carried a flowing dendrobium and Vandela rose cascade with vinca vine for accent and movement. Each attendant (there were 8, I didn't get them all) carried basically single variety bouquets to match their shoes. Red roses, blue delphinium, orange dahlias and green button mums with hypericum berries and oregonia. When doing each bridesmaid's bouquet different I like to keep the bouquets simple, it shows a much clearer intention. The girls, as you can see looked fantastic!

Silk Bouquets

Outside of holiday work permanent botanicals have not been something I spend enough time showing here on florissimo. Time to change that.
Silk and dried flowers of course have their place in interior decorating but are generally only thought of in bridal work only in relation to being more cost effective. Unless you are buying low end silk blooms prices are very comparable. In my opinion permanent elements must be chosen even more carefully than their fresh counterparts, in wedding photography there will be close up shots of the flowers and inferior quality blooms just don't show well.
  Top - A cascade bouquet of; roses, ranunculus, mini hydrangea, maidenhair fern, hops and pearl strands. In the modern cascade movement is key.
Middle - A clutch of peach roses, spray roses, ranunculus and seashells (photo by Rachel Bader.)
Bottom - A lily-of-the-valley bouquet.
  There's nothing wrong with wanting to have and hold your bouquet forever, I just suggest going to your design professional first.

Some shots from another great session for Central Missouri Bride magazine. The location is Westminster Church in Fulton Mo. Thanks to Travis Duncan's light skills the grey overcast day yielded some great shots! The model - Rachel Mills, hair and makeup by Catherine Crum, concept and styling by Stephanie Strobel. I'll post a link to Travis' blog when he gets some images up. The flowers: polar star roses and queen anne's lace, the handle of the bouquet and the neck of the vase are both finished with pearls.

Marisa Boyd

           

Here we have another beauty - Marisa Boyd. Her wedding was at The Meremac Learning Adventure Ranch, a gorgeous lodge-style facility in the middle of nowhere in Steelville Mo. Other than the bouquets everything was created on-site. In my first meeting with Marisa she brought in a power point presentation of her vision. My kinda girl! It will take several posts to give you a feel for her day but we'll start with Marisa and her bouquet. I showed her bouquet shot against black last post so you could really look at the bouquet, but when a smiling girl holds a bouquet the flowers smile too!

Ranunculus, roses, some perfect mini callas and hypericum sprayed white. Using more ranunculus than roses along with the berries gives these classic girls some nice, color and texture variation. Aside from the bouquet and the dress nothing else in this wedding will be white...

Just to stress the beauty of bouquets with few elements I will post the rose and calla lily combo almost every time I make it. Presentation bouquets of calla lilies for the bridesmaids and a clutch of fragrant white roses and mini callas for the bride. Clean and classic.

Dana Woodard

 Here, calla lilies in clutch and presentation style bouquets. One of the best flower choices for a clean, classic look that will always be stylish.

 Gardeny combo of queen anne's lace, lisianthus, veronica, roses, stock and billy balls. Lovely girl with some lovely ideas.

A beautiful bouquet of anemones, ranunculus and roses.

white and ivory

White dendrobiums, stock, waxflower, ivory Vandela roses and rhinestones.

winter bouquet

A chilly bouquet of Vandela roses, white stock- that comes of with light blue highlights, mini calla lilies and white waxflower. Pretty, chilly and textured. There will be more posts from this wedding soon.
