Danielle Ledbetter

Obviously I'm a bit behind on posting, been a busy few months, (and Facebook does make a blogger lazy.) I'll try to catch up quickly before I get into Christmas posts. Here is Danielle Ledbetter and Co. in October. She carried a great bouquet of eggplant calla lilies, white polar star roses with hypericum berries. Her attendants carried terra cotta roses, leucdenron, lotus pods and green hypericum for some contrast. A few unexpected materials made for some texturally interesting fall bouquets. The leucadendron (safari sunset) also makes a handsome boutonniere.

I had the pleasure of being a lecturer for this event along with several other wedding professionals from our area. Great event Natalie, and thank you for letting me address my passion! The key to a successful wedding show is to always make something you want to take home. Pincushion protea, orange mini calla lilies, "safari sunset" leucadendron, red hypericum berries and orange roses. More from pics from this event to come. Way to go Natalie!

A wonderful Thanksgiving with my nearest and dearest. Monochromatic centerpiece of: orange roses, Chinese lantern and some kinda berry.

Faith Long

Lovely, kind and with a sweet Missouri Boot-heel accent that I could listen to all day every meeting with Faith was a joy. We created a straight up fall red and orange look for her that instead of being about texture was about shapes and color. Fall flowers can be elegant if you choose the right elements (again, choice is key.) Red roses, orange lilies and red gladiolas for the large piece. Thanks for having faith in me Faith!

A riff on the "summer's end" post made for Vashti Furrey. With stem dyed sunflowers, stem dyed solidago, montecasino asters, burgundy hypericum berries, safari sunset leucadendron and orange crocosmia makes this bouquet a great study in textures. Thank you Vashti for being a florissimo fan and congratulations to you and Dylan!

Marisa Boyd's Bridesmaids

 

Marisa Boyd's bridesmaids. All the dresses were in the same color and fabric but in styles that were great for each girl's figure. End result, they all look beautiful and have a dress they can wear again. I had been looking forward to making these bouquets since Marisa and I finalized the flowers; orange mini calla lilies, terra cotta roses, safari sunset luecadendron and green hypericum berries. The handles were finished with raw silk ribbon then overlaid with a burlap-style mesh. Rustic yet very chic. More to come.
