rites of spring

Nothing says spring like an all bulb flower bouquet. A lovely mix of: hyacinths, grape hyacinths, tulips and narcissus.

under the hood

Here is a lovely "scepter" style bouquet of hydrangea, tulips and ranunculus. The handle of this bouquet is about 1&1/2' long, hence the scepter moniker. If you look below you can see that some of the stems are quite short, so to create the illusion I've used headless stems of flowers to give it length. These are going to be some great bouquets and I will post the finished product tomorrow or Sunday.

green parrot tulips

I cut these wonderful green parrot tulips last night from the yard, (they were completely closed) in the hopes that they would do their thing and yes, they were happier to see me than the cats (who, in their defense still had food.) Here they are in a milk pitcher on the back porch.

tulips

I was just wondering why i was awake this early on a Sunday, these tulips seems like a good enough reason. Now go back to enjoying your coffee or whatever stimulating beverage you're into.

Bouquet of lavender roses, white tulips, magenta stock and limonium for bridal show tomorrow. I generally  like to show something from the upcoming season, hence the tulips. As you can probably tell this "cool water" rose is one of my faves -  a trendy color and being a 40cm. rose I can make a more affordable bouquet.
